Abstract

929,458. Garment hangers. CAL-DAK CO. Oct. 28, 1959, No. 36652/59. Class 52 (5). A collapsible clothes support comprises a post 13 pivotally mounted at 12 on a base 10 and a brace structure comprising a brace 16 mounted on the base and a link 20 slidable along the post coupling the brace 16 to the post 13, the brace structure latching the post to the base when the post is upright so as to prevent rotation of the post in either direction about the pivotal axis 12. Two ears 27, 28 project from a metal strip 22 secured to the post 13. When the post is in the vertical position (Fig. 4) the link 20 is prevented from sliding down the post by the ear 28 on one side of the post and the brace 16 latches beneath the ear 27. A member 14 is slidably adjustable in the post 13 and carries a bar 21. This bar is pivoted to the member 14 by means of a pivot 24 offset from one end of and to one side of the bar 21 in such a manner that the bar may be swung through approximately 270 degrees, an end 25 of the bar butting against the member 14 and preventing further swinging of the bar.
