Abstract

1,129,938. Projection screens. KNOX MFG. CO. April 11, 1967, No.16626/67. Heading G2J. In an upright projection screen stand in which three legs 33 are pivotally attached to a collar 28 slidable on vertical tubular standard 17, the legs being braced by struts 35 pivoting on a fixed collar 30, the legs are automatically extended, when screen case 16 is swung to the horizontal operative position, by means of a torsion spring (38) at each pivot (37) on the legs, Fig. 5 (not shown), the legs being retracted when the stand is lifted by a spring (25) within standard (17) bearing against an arm (41), of an arcuate arm (43) pivoted at (36) to the end of each strut (35). For springs (38) to operate, the stronger spring (25) is first released from the compressed state against face (54b) of cam (50), by rotation of the cam to the position of Fig. 5 by means of an arm (46) which the screen case 16 displaces in moving to the operative position. In the vertical, inoperative position, case 16 is latched by lug 23 of a bail support 22 on the telescoping rod 18.
