Abstract
427,424. Cruet &c. stands ; furniture frames. PAGE, A., 35, Hogarth Road, Kensington, London. Oct. 26, 1933, No. 29645. [Classes 52 (ii) and 128] Domestic furniture and table articles such as cruet stands, flower holders, &c. are made of tubular lengths of wood A strung upon wire B together with a platform or base C, the lengths of wood being tapered at one or both ends and tightened on the wire by levering one or more of the lengths aside after the end lengths have been fixed to the ends of the wire. Fig. 1 shows the central post of a cruet stand bent to form a handle at the top, the base C being supported by legs,(not shown),also formed of tubes strung upon wire and extended above the base to form a retaining rail. Fig. 5 shows a stand or table, the top C being in several pieces threaded on the wire which passes down the legs A. Some of the tubes may be set at an angle and shaped to increase the tightening action, and springs may be interposed between the tubes. The end tubes mav be fixed to the wire by bending, kinking, screwing, or flattening the wire.
