Abstract

1,017,573. Draining racks. J. M. WOLSTENHOLME. Nov. 16, 1964 [Nov. 18, 1963], No. 45471/63. Heading A4R. A draining rack, more particularly for hollow glass articles such as test tubes and flasks, comprises a plurality of article supporting rods 15 or the like projecting upwardly from a base 11 formed as a lattice of rods 12, 13 wherein the base 11 is provided with or attached to supporting brackets 19 (Fig. 1) or 26 (Fig. 4, not not shown) so formed in relation to the base 11 that the supporting rods 15 extend upwardly at an angle to the vertical. Brackets 19 (Fig. 1) with bracing members 25 may be integral with the base 11 and the brackets 19 may be secured to a wall or alternatively, the rack may rest on a horizontal support with the lower ends of the brackets 19 and the front cross-rod 13 serving as feet. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the base 11 is detachable from end brackets 26 and is supported by lugs 30, 32 projecting laterally from the brackets 26, a stop 34 being provided on the base 11. The rods 15 may be hollow to permit the blowing therethrough of warm air.
