APPLICATION FILED MAY 5, 1919.

UNITED STATES THOMAS A. OREILLY, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
BOTTLE-HOLDER. 1
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Ma 25, 1920.
Application filed May 5, 1919. Serial No. 294,734.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS A. OREILLY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of St. Louis and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Holders; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enableothers skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates, to improvements in bottle holders and more particularly to devices for supporting nursing bottles.
The object of my invention is to provide a bottle holder of extremely simple and improved construction.
With this and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and arrangement of parts as will be described in the specificationand claim and clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings which form a part of this application and in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of my bottle holder.
Fig. 2 is a front end elevation thereof;
Fig. 3 is a rear end view of the device.
Fig. 4 is a top plan view.
Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the inven' tion, and
Fig. 6 is a vertical section on the line 66 of Fig. 2.
As-illustrated in the accompanying drawing, my invention includes a substantially H-shaped base section consisting of a pair of T couplings 0 and 7; connected by a tube or rod it formed of metal, wood or the like, the ends being externally threaded for engagement with the internal threads of the couplings. Disposed at right angles to the rod h are horizontally extending legs m, n, 1" and '0 whose inner ends are threaded for engagement with the couplings 0 and p, the free ends of said legs being covered by ballsZ formed. of rubber or other suitable material and for the purpose of protecting furniture, etc., from being marred.
Rising vertically from the base at the angles of intersection of the rod 7t and legs m, a, 1' and o is a pair of standards each of which is adjustable. Each of these standards includes a short hollow metalsection e, f, which is internally threaded to engage the externally threaded end of an extension 0, d, the purpose of the threaded engagement being to allow vertical adjustment of said extension.
The free end of each extension 0, d, isv
provided with a longitudinally extending with more of a continuous curve than the rear member so as to conform with the shape of the neck of the ordinary nursing bottle.
When using this holder, the rear'yoke, or supporting member, is adjusted considerably higher than the front one, so that the contents will flow to the mouth of the bottle, which is supported on the front yoke. The bottleholder may be used on a bed, the legs on the base being of such length as to provide a substantial support and prevent tipping over the device.
The legs maybe covered over with the bed clothes and pillows, thereby further insuring against tipping the holder over.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the constructionand operation of the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.
Various changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of the claimed invention.
I claim:
A device of the character described, comprising a substantially H-shaped base, sections rising from the base at the angles of intersection, extensions having screw threaded portions to engage said sections to adjustably support them on said sections, said extensions having longitudinally extending threaded sockets in their upper ends supporting yokes having stems thereon adaptedto be received in said sockets to form swivel connections between the extensions and yokes.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
' THOMAS A. OREILLY.
