Abstract
595,029. Horticultural cloches. PERKINS, C. H. June 6, 1945, No. 14211. [Class 20(i)] A framing for a cloche comprises a pair of side frame members each comprising a base channel support, a spaced upper rail and vertical bars connecting the base channel and upper rail, and adjustable means for holding a pair of such frame members at the desired distance apart. The base supports may be of channel section or as shown built up from angles a and spaced rods f secured at their ends to the vertical bars c, the side panels b of the cloche being located between the rods and the vertical flanges of the angles. The upper rails may also be formed from angles d and rods e disposed as shown to locate the upper part of the side panels b, the horizontal flanges of the angles d supporting the upper inclined panels g of the cloche. The pair of side frame members are held in adjustably spaced relation by a pair of telescopic stays h pivoted at c<1> to the vertical bars c and locked in adjusted position by the clamp j. When the side frame members are long, additional vertical bars k connect the upper rails and base channels at intervals. The ends of the cloche may be closed by panels resting in channels connected to the side frame members.
