Abstract
160,442. Soc. GÚnÚrale de Fours Ó Coke, SystÞmes Lecocq. March 13, 1920, [Convention date]. Gaseous-fuel furnaces.-In a regenerative coke oven, in which separate gas-supply passages U are provided in the oven structure between the gas mains L at the two sides of the bench and the individual heating-flues, the passages are made straight and inclined so that they can be cleaned easily from the inspection galleries A. In the construction shown in which the direction of flow of the combustion products is reversed at intervals, and the heating-flues E, F are so connected that the gases in adjacent flues travel in opposite directions, the gas supply arrangements for each half of a heating-wall comprise two sets of passages U leading to the flues E, F respectively, and connected to the main through valved pipes S and two distributing pipes Q, in which are valves O operated from the reversing-mechanism. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) it is stated that the oven is more particularly adapted for heating by water or oil gas. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
