Abstract

148,958. Bethenod, J. Dec. 28, 1918, [Convention date]. Starting; turning-gear.-Fuel is supplied to tho induction pipe through a pipe 8 and an electromagnetically controlled valve 10 by a piston 6 actuated by an electromagnet 7 and working in a cylinder 5 in communication with a fuel reservoir 1. A thermostatic control may cut out the circuit of the electromagnet 7 when the temperature of the engine has risen sufficiently. The electromagnets may be supplied with current at the same time as an electric starting-motor. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a diagram of the electric circuits &c., and states that the cylinder 5 may communicate with the float chamber of the carburettor; and that in an engine in which the petrol is fed by pressure, the device may be a pipe leading from the petrol supply pipe to the inlet manifold and provided with an electromagnetically controlled valve. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
