Abstract

218,788. Howard, F. May 7, 1923. Pressure - regulating valves.-The air pressure in a pressure fuel supply system to an internalcombustion engine is regulated by the valve shown in Fig. 3. Compressed air passes through a tube 65 and a valve 71 to a chamber 60 which communicates with the top of the fuel tanks by a tube 67. The valve 71 is mounted on a sleeve 68 which is rigidly connected to a yoke 73. The chamber 60 is enclosed by a corrugated diaphragm 61 which is adjustably connected by a screw 75 with the yoke 73. By this means when a definite pressure is reached in the chamber 60, the valve 71 is closed.
