Abstract

163,356. Bowden, W. Nov. 7, 1919. Liquid-meters. - In fuel-supply apparatus for internal-combustion engines in which fuel is drawn into a receptacle 1 by suction, the means for controlling the pressure in the receptacle are actuated by an electromagnet device or devices, which may also control the fuel inlet to and outlet from the receptacle. An electrical registering- device may be arranged in the circuit. In the form shown, the receptacle communicates with the suction pipe 31 connected to the induction pipe y. Controlling- valves 32, 33 and fuel inlet and outlet valves 5, 6 are carried by the cores of solenoids 14, 15, the circuits of which are controlled by switches 21, 26 carried by floats 16, 17, the construction and operation of the device being similar to the apparatus described in Specifications 113,949, 114,207, and 119,299.
