Abstract
146,361. Jones, E. A. Feb. 26, 1919, [Convention date]. Tyre attachments to rims.-Relates to collapsible transversely divided rims which are manipulated by means of a lever permanently pivoted to the abutting ends of the rim as described in the U.S.A. Specification 256,663. The lever 18 is pivoted at a point suitably distant from one end of the rim by an integral bar 20 and a clip 22 which is riveted to the rim. Between its ends, the lever is pivoted at the other end of the rim by a cross-piece 30 thereon being embraced by a bent plate 28 which is riveted to the lever. The ends of the plate are enlarged as at 32, 34 and are adapted to fit into openings 38, 40 in the ends of the rim when in its normal position to lock the abutting parts of the rim against relative movement. The parts are covered on the rim bed by a plate 42 riveted to one end.
