428,921. Wheel tyres. HURLIMANN, H., 10, Glõrnischstrasse, Wil, St. Gallen, Switzerland. Dec. 4, 1934, No. 34844. Convention date, Dec. 4, 1933. [Class 144 (ii)] A tyre gaiter for use on tractor wheels fitted with pneumatic tyres comprises a metal shoe having an apertured tread portion 1 with projecting ribs 6 and side walls 2, 3 detachably secured to a strap &c., 10 passing through an opening 22 in the wheel. The strap is formed with lugs 16, 20 to engage a shoulder 17 and one edge of the wheel-rim. The limb 2 of the shoe is provided with a series of holes 8 to receive one end 9 of the strap the other end of which is secured to a lug 13 on the limb 3 by a bolt 12 and spherical nut 15. In modifications, (not shown), the rigid strap 10 may be replaced by a chain the lug 16 may be replaced by a set-screw; and the bolt and nut may be replaced by lever devices, pawls, or hooks.
