493,659. Wheel tyres. GRIFFITHS, E. July 27, 1937, No. 20689. [Class 144 (ii)] To prevent damage to the attachment strap 6 of a tyre-gaiter of the kind described in Specification 339,524, [Class 144 (ii)], a length of chain 5, wire-mesh or other articulated metal, is incorporated in the strap at the part liable to contact with the rim or wheel. As shown, a leather backing-strip 7 secured by a headed stud 7a tends to space the chain &c. 5 from the wheel.
