323,871. Williams, H. Nov. 24, 1928. Tyre attachments to rims.-A detachable side flange, adapted to engage a groove 3 at one edge of the rim 1, is formed in two parts 4<a>, 4<b>, with scarfed or lapped ends 5. The latter are connected and locked to the rim base by bolts 7 (Figs. 2 and 3); a pin 9 carried by a spring-plate 8 (Fig. 4) ; or, in modifications not shown, bywedges secured by split-pins; or by set-screws- Rims for use with twin tyres may be fitted with similar two-part flanges between the tyres.
