452,566. Vehicle wheels. FORTESCUE, A. J., Loftus Street, Arncliffe, near Sydney, Australia. Feb. 25, 1936, No. 5599. Convention date, March 13, 1935. [Class 144 (ii)] A detachable tread device for pneumatic tyres of tractor and like wheels comprises a narrow band 10 of rubber or metal, adapted to fit over the centre-line of the tyre 11, clamped between a pair of rings 12, 13 which are connected by spaced arms 14 to rings 16, 15 disposed at the edges of the tyre tread. The outer ring 15 is provided with a laterallyextending rim 17 fitted with strakes 18. To maintain the drive of the tread device in case of tyre deflation, the rim 17 may be connected to the wheel-hub by chains 19.
