Abstract

Tyre attachments to rims.-A security-band shaped to fit between the tyre edges 12, 13 comprises an elastic ring 11 in which is embedded a flexible but inextensible band 4 the spaced ends of which are fitted with means for attachment to the metal rim 2. To facilitate the necessary extension of the device in assemblage &c., the portion 5 of the ring 11 between the ends of the band 4 may be of reduced section. In the form shown in Fig. 3, bolts 28, 29 passing through slots in the rim engage tapped' ferrules 6, 7 carried bv the ends of the band 4. Washers 25, 26 on the bolts and plates 18, 19 on the rim are formed with interengaging serrations. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the band 4 is adjusted, by a turnbuckle 34 connecting pins 30, 31 carried by the ends of the band as shown.
