144,265. Ottolenghi, A. June 3, 1919, [Convention date]. Jacks. - Consists chiefly in pawl-operating mechanism for ratchet lifting-jacks. The rocking lever 6 is pivoted to the casing of the jack, one end of the pivot carrying a pivoted rod 9 which is slotted to receive the free ends of springs 11 projecting inwards from the pivots of the pawls 4. When the rod 9 is in the position shown in Fig. 2 the pawls are engaged; they are disengaged by swinging the rod downwards.
