Abstract
1345304 Charging two-stroke I.C. engines GOTAVERKEN A B 19 April 1972 [23 April 1971] 18179/72 Heading F1B A two-stroke I. C. engine is supplied with air from an exhaust gas turbine driven compressor plant comprizing at least one group of compressors 15, 16 in series with an interposed cooler 17 so that air enters compressor 16 at substantially the same temperature as that of the ambient air, the turbines 13, 14 driving the compressors 15, 16 being arranged in parallel and each compressor turbine unit having substantially the same power consumption. The gauge pressure of air supplied to the engine is at least one bar. A cooler 18 is provided to cool the air from compressor 16. Receiver 12 has a sufficient volume to ensure that the gas supplied to the turbines is at substantially constant pressure.
