Abstract

1339867 Safety closures H GRAY 29 March 1972 [31 March 1971] 14849/72 Heading B8T To unscrew a safety closure, an outer cap 14 is depressed against the action of resilient tongues 26 formed on an inner cap 12 so that cams 32 engage cams 36 on the cap 12. A web 42 is broken as cap 12 is unscrewed. To screw on cap 12, the cap 14 is turned but not depressed so that cams 32 bear on the free edges of tongues 26. The tongues and cams 32 may be on cap 12 and the cams 36 may be on cap 14. The tongues (26a, 26b), Figs. 3-4 (not shown), may engage recesses on cap 12 to turn it. A cam (60) on the inner cap (12c), Fig. 5 (not shown), may engage a slot (62) in the outer cap (14c).
