Abstract

1,246,930. Tamper-proof closure. V. WASSILIEFF. 15 July, 1969 [29 July, 1968], No. 35691/69. Heading B8T. A tamper-indicating closure assembly comprises a stopper 1, a resilient element 2 and a container neck 3 the element 2 preventing the re-establishment of the fully closed position of stopper 1 relative to the neck 3 once the stopper 1 has been removed from the neck 3. The resilient element 2 has a frusto-conically shaped top 5, Fig. 1 (not shown), which is deformed to fit into a groove 7 in the stopper 1 prior to the union of the stopper with the neck 3. On removal of the stopper 1 the top 5 of the element 2 resumes its natural shape thus preventing the stopper from being screwed fully down on the neck 3. In other embodiments (not shown) the resilient element 2 may be deformed to fit on to the container neck prior to attaching the stopper thereto.
