Abstract

1414957 Caps for containers UNILEVER Ltd 4 Oct 1972 [13 July 1971] 32852/71 Heading B8T A rotationally non-symmetrical container closure is formed by a cap 3 with sealing plug 13 and a neck member 2. The cap 3 aligns with the container, and a lip 6 on the member 2 snaps past a cap bead 12, as the cap is pushed on. Either side of the neck are recesses providing surfaces 9 and stops 8 with which probes 4 on the cap engage. As the cap is lowered, webs 14 centre it on the neck. The stops 8 allow the cap to be rotated only in the anti-clockwise direction when the cap is removed, surfaces 21 or probes 4 camming up surfaces 9 to disengage the lip 6 and bead 12. The member 2 may be a separate filament on the container. The recess on the neck may be wider than the probe in a direction circumferentially of the neck.
