Abstract

1,148,089. Caps for bottles &c. ARMSTRONG CORK CO. 29 Aug., 1967 [29 Aug., 1966], No. 39443/67. Heading B8T. A bottle &c. crown cap is formed with a plastics, cork, rubber &c. sealing ring 4 which engages the top flat sealing surface 9 and the flat inner surface 10 of the bottle &c. neck, the two surfaces 9, 10 being joined by a sharp corner 7 having a radius of curvature of more than one-thirtysecond of an inch. The cap skirt 2 is fluted and is deformed to engage threads 6 around the bottle &c. neck. The flat inner surface 10 in the bottle &c. neck extends inwardly from the corner for at least one-sixtyfourth of an inch.
