Abstract

684,276. Stoppers. KIHM, G. A. July 12, 1950 [March 27, 1950; April 6, 1950; June 15, 1950], No. 17452/50. Class 125(iii) A sealing packing of plastic material, e.g. polyethylene, for closing the neck of a container to be finally sealed by a crimped capsule 5, a " crown cork " or a screw-cap comprises a depressed central part 2c surrounded by an upstanding wall engaging the inside of the receptacle neck and a peripheral flange 2b lying on the receptacle neck and formed with an annular bead 3 engaging the top of the neck. The bead 3 may be opposite an annular groove on the upper surface of flange 2b. As shown in Fig. 9, the upstanding wall is extended at 11 to support the outer cap or as shown in Fig. 11, a prop 23 is provided. The flanges 2b may have projections 24 to engage the skirt of the outer cap.
