Abstract

1333466 Safety caps EYELET SPECIALTY CO 19 April 1971 [9 Sept 1970 28 Dec 1970] 25281/71 Heading B8T A safety cap 11, Fig. 2, provided with lugs 15 which engage the bayonet formations 13, 13<SP>1</SP>, is provided with a taper 16 connecting an opposite taper 20 to an annulus 19 so that on cap application and bayonet engagement, the neck bore 17 exerts radial and axial sealing pressure on the taper 16. Cam means are provided for bayonet engagement. The taper 20 may be of reduced height in order to provide a recess for an identification disc (44), or formed as a cylindrical wall section (34), Fig. 3 (not shown), closed by a surface (33). Again, the taper section may consist of a section 54, Fig. 6, connecting a first annular portion 52 and second annular portion 53 to a flat radial panel 55, the section and panels being arranged so that on cap application, radial and axial pressure is exerted against section 54 and portion 53, and axial pressure against portion 52.
