Abstract

1330884 Caps for bottles SEGMULLER AG 21 Oct 1970 [21 Oct 1969 2 April 1970] 50038/70 Heading B8T A cap 1 for a bottle 22 comprises a skirt 14B, which includes axial grooves 8, and a lug 4 which is attached by narrow webs 13 to a tab 5 which is itself attached to a security strip 3. The cap 1 snap fits on to the bottle 22, a seal being formed by the circumferential bulges 10 and 16. The interior surface of the strip 3 contains axial ribs 7 which engage the bottle 22. The depth of the grooves 8 is such that openings 6 are formed through an intermediate member (21), Fig. 4 (not shown), into the spaces 9, thereby allowing the cap to be rinsed after application. Interval pressure causes the concave member 17A to flatten which increases the sealing force in bulge 16. (For Figures see next page.)
