Abstract

1285392 Microscopes J N McARTHUR 11 May 1971 [22 April 1970] 19259/70 Heading G2J A microscope has a condenser 4, an objective 7, an eyepiece 10, and reflector means 12 movable between position A to reflect light into the condenser, and position C to allow viewing of an object through aperture 26 via condenser 4. The reflector may be provided with internal light 14 powered by batteries 19, and the reflector may also have a position B where an external light source may be used. The sliding of reflector and associated lamp may switch on the lamp when the reflector is in position A. A slide may be mounted on projections 22, or when reversed and rotated through 90 degrees about the axis of the objective on projections 23, these two sets of projections differing in height by the thickness of the slide. A number of alternative objectives 7 may be provided on slide 27, and screw 28 may alter the position of the objective. Supports for microfilm may be provided as at 30, 31 and 32.
