Glass furnaces. -A small auxiliary furnace, connected by a short duct d with the main furnace (not shown) and independently heated by gas and air introduced at e and f respectively, has its outlet flue h arranged above the gathering-trough g so that the escaping gases keep the outflowing material properly liquid. The air may be drawn through a heating-flue f<1> or through a regenerator.
