Abstract

117,891. Carr, T. J. Feb. 25, 1918. Cup-leather joints.-In a hose coupling of the male and female type, the female member is provided with a cone-shaped packing c held in place within the female member by a screw-threaded ring d having a chamfered hole d' and slightly projecting rim e to take over the packing. The male member passes through the packing, a screwthreaded sleeve being employed to hold the male and female parts together. A hose clip, Fig. 4, may also be employed, consisting of two hinged parts l, m, tightened by a screw nut m<1>, and provided with a hook &c. n for engaging the coupling.
