Abstract

17,810. Craig, R. C. Aug. 5. Couplings, disconnectible; couplings with union nuts.-In a hose coupling in which one member is placed in an incomplete segmental portion of a nut on the other member, the nut being then tightened to draw the members together, removal of the nut is prevented by an inwardly-projecting pin &c. on it. One of the members a, Fig. 2, is formed with a socket c to receive packing f, and is fitted with a nut d, shaped as shown in Fig. 3. The member b has a collar g which is placed in the hollow h, and the nut is then screwed up to bring the spigot b<1> against the packing f. A pin l prevents removal of the nut from the member a. Two of such couplings on a common tubular junction piece may be used.
