[Class 99 (i).] A coupling for hose pipes comprises a tapered spigot inserted within the end of the hose pipe D, a tapered sleeve B, and a nut C screwed on to the sleeve and having an internal flange C<1> bearing against a washer E which is made in two parts for insertion in a recess E<1> in the spigot.
