[Class 99 (i).] In a welded pipe joint the end of one pipe is formed with a socket, S-shaped in cross-section, which provides an annular chamber 3 adapted freely to receive a centering nose or off-set portion 2 of a flange 1 at the end of the other pipe. The socket engages only the curved extension of the nose 2 and the back of the flange 1. Specification 225,486, [Class 99 (i), Pipes and tubes, Joints &c. for], is referred to.
