Abstract

398,346. Bulkhead &c. fittings ; pipe joints. FERGUSON, A., 217, St. Vincent Street, Glasgow. Sept. 22, 1932, No. 26303. [Class 99 (i).] The flared end of a pipe 7 passing through an externally threaded socket 2 disposed within an aperture in a bulkhead 1 is jointed to the flared end of a pipe 8 by a doubleconical ring 11, 12 on to which the pipe ends are compressed by a nut 17 which engages the socket 2 and also a flanged sleeve 14 surrounding the pipe 8, the socket and sleeve both being flared at 3, 16 respectively to accommodate the pipe ends. The socket is secured to the bulkhead by a nut 5, and rotation of the socket is prevented by a pin 6 passing through the flange 4 thereof. Specification 264,989, [Class 99 (i), Pipes and tubes, Joints &c. for], is referred to.
