Abstract

1,148,568. Interlacing filaments. SOC. RHODIACETA. 16 May, 1967 [16 May, 1966], No. 22729/67. Heading D1F. The filaments of a multifilament yarn are interlaced by passing the yarn under sufficient tension to prevent loop formation through a treatment zone in which at least a pair of first jets of fluid are directed onto one side of the yarn at spaced points with the fluid from the first jets being collected and guided back onto the yarn to form a second jet of fluid which is directed onto the other side of the yarn between the spaced points. As described a common conduit supplies the first jets with air, nitrogen, or saturated or unsaturated steam, with the jets being arranged at an angle to one another and approaching the yarn either convergingly or divergingly. The treatment zone is positioned between a drawing zone and a heated relaxation zone.
