Abstract
1342989 Yarn interlacing nozzle RHONEPOULENC TEXTILE 28 May 1971 [18 June 1970] 18009/71 Heading D1F A method of interlacing a yarn comprises feeding a plurality of yarns, filaments or threads through the yarn passage duct 22 of an interlacing nozzle, feeding at least two fluid jets into said duct in subsantially the same direction as the duct, but in the opposite sense to each other, and withdrawing the resulting interlaced yarn. The nozzle used comprises at least one member having a yarn passage duct, and at least two fluid feed conduits having a portion common with and exending in substantially the same direction as the duct, whereby when fluid is introduced through one conduit, fluid flows in the same direction but in opposite sense to fluid from another conduit. The nozzle preferably comprises two abutting members 13, 14 are located relative to each 22, fluid feed means 17 and two fluid feed conduits 20, 21. The fluid feed conduits 20, 21 may be rectilinear or curvilinear. The two members 13, 14 are located relative to each other by means of studs 15, 16 provided in one member 14. The conduits 20, 21 are preferably in the form of grooves which may be provided in one or both abutting surfaces of the members 13, 14. The conduits 20, 21 may be provided on the same side of the duct 22 or may be disposed one on each side thereof. In a further embodiment, four such conduits are provided, two on each side of the duct 22. In the manufacture of interlaced yarn, several such nozzles may be disposed in series. In a preferred embodiment of the method, a yarn is passed through a draw roll system, then through the interlacing nozzle, and is taken-up on a ring and traveller winding machine.
