Abstract

1316064 Textile treatment apparatus KANEGAFUCHI BOSEKI KK 4 Aug 1971 [5 Aug 1970] 36557/71 Heading D1L In the treatment of threads with liquids, the threads are passed through liquid which is forced to flow along the path of travel of the thread Y and form alongside this path a plurality of vortices 5 whose axes are prependicular to the path of travel of the thread Y. As shown this liquid flow is produced between plates 1 and 1' which have a plurality of grooves on their opposed surfaces, one of the plates (at least) having an inlet 4 for liquid. The thread may pass through the apparatus between two rollers with slanting axes, and so pass through it several times before being passed to the next treatment stage. A plurality of such treatment devices in series may carry out operations such as mercerizing or dyeing, each having a bath into which the liquid drops to be recycled, and there may be two devices (and one bath) to each stage. Also described is means for dividing a band of threads into at least three groups by a lace inserted into a shed formed by diverting the groups in alternate directions on either side of the plane of the band to reduce entanglement of the threads, further means downstream of the treatment device removing this lace.
