Abstract

1345307 Lap forming RHONE-POULENC TEXTILE 26 April 1972 [26 April 1971] 19414/72 Heading D1N A web forming device feeds a bundle of filaments against deflecting plate 3 so that they are deflected and collected on moving belt 5, and there is a fluid jet positioned in front of the deflector, relative to the direction of travel of the deflected filaments, to force the filaments against the deflector and spread the filaments laterally. The deflector can be flat, concave or convex. The filaments may be fed directly from a spinnerette through a tube 2 to stretch the filaments in a current of air.
