Abstract

1480458 Air laid web forming TOYO BOSEKI KK 25 July 1975 [25 July 1974] 31208/75 Heading D1N A method of forming a non woven web by jet drafting a number of filaments and blowing them onto a moving collector 4 comprises passing the drafted filaments through a spreading guide 3 which has a pair of guide blades 3a which form a converging open ended gap and hence spread the jet air streams transversely. Alternative sections of the guide blades 3a are illustrated and they may be arranged to have a wider gap at their ends than at their centres. Guide slots 6a are arranged on either side of the filament stream to preclude disturbed air flow. Examples are given which include dimensions of the apparatus employed.
