Abstract

Synthetic filaments extruded from a line of spinnerets vertically downwards, are stretched by a very high speed current of air as they pass through a drawing and delivery chamber the section of which resembles that of a Venturi tube. The air stream gives them a rotary motion and they are deposited on a permeable conveyor belt in loops, the size and shape of which can be modified by altering the inclination of the walls of the drawing chamber, whilst retaining the Venturi-type section, and braking the air flow.
