Abstract

Several extruded filaments are drawn from the extrusion nozzles through an extraction tube under the action of a gas-flow, the filaments being intermingled in the tube and deposited onto a conveyor in the form of a web. The extraction tube, is movable to vary the distance between it and the extrusion nozzle, and pref. the filaments are cooled prior to passing through the extraction tube. By varying the distance between the extraction tube and extrusion nozzles high quality webs can be produced from different denier filaments.
