Abstract

1,274,513. Treating thread bundles; fluid jets. ALGEMENE KUNSTZIJDE UNIE N.V. 12 June, 1969 [13 June, 1968], No. 29893/69. Heading D1F. Apparatus for treating a bundle of threads of, for example, regenerated cellulose, polyamides, polyesters and polyacrylonitrile, with a jet of air or other gas, steam or liquid, which may be at elevated temperature, to produce, for example, interlacing of the filaments, consists of a nozzle 1 with air outlet 4 mounted in a frame 3 in which is adjustably mounted a holder 6 for a resonance chamber 5 so that the latter is disposed coaxially with the jet outlet. The depth of chamber 5 can be varied by adjustment of a pin 8. The thread, under sufficient tension to hold it opposite the outlet 4, is guided in front thereof by diametrically opposed eyelets 10, 11 in an annular collar 12 formed integrally with the nozzle and concentrically surrounding the resonance chamber leaving an annular slit 13 for the escape of gas &c. The apparatus may be attached to a draw twisting machine in place of the top eyelet thereof.
