Abstract

A blowing nozzle for opening out textile tow consists of a plate 2 formed with at least two rows of perforations 4, 4A of which one row or alternate rows each have the perforations inclined with respect to the plane of the plate to direct gas streams flowing through the perforations to converge towards the centre of the row (Fig. 2), while the remaining row or rows have the perforations inclined to direct the gas streams to diverge away from the row centre. The textile tow passes between plate 2 and a second hinged plate, each plate having a recessed portion 10, 10A. The air is supplied through a funnel 1 to the plate 2.
