Abstract

1298312 Warp stop motions CONTRAVES AG 18 Jan 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 2433/71 Heading D1E A defective warp thread allows a dropper 4 to fall and interrupt a current of air to stop the loom. The ends of the droppers 4 enter a channel 1 having air inlet tubes 20 with discharge openings 25 which cause air to pass along the channel 1 to inlet openings 24 of adjacent air supply tubes 20. The tubes 20 also have openings 28 allowing air to pass along sensing tubes 5 which discharge through openings 26 into adjacent tubes 20 which have partition walls 21 with openings 27 aligned with the openings 28, 26. In use, air in the tubes 20 passes along the dropper channels 1 and thence through the openings 24 of adjacent tubes 20 to deflect downwardly air passing through the openings 26, 27. When a dropper falls the air flow through the openings 24 is interrupted and air no longer deflects the air through the openings 26, 27, which air jets impinge on each other causing a difference in pressure in the sensing tubes 5 which is effective to stop the loom.
