In apparatus for threshing peas the whole plant is fed into a rotary screen drum P having beaters S arranged at its centre the peas falling through the drum on to conveyers T, T<SP>1</SP>. Tubes L having a number of holes or nozzles H are arranged parallel with the drum whereby jets of air are directed on to the drum to prevent the plants sticking to the inner surface of the drum.
