Abstract

993,732. Seed sowing machines. O. A. SILK. March 2, 1962, No. 8128/62. Heading A1D. A seed sowing machine comprises a number of collectors 1 each of which traps a single seed as the collector moves over a surface member 4 and deposits the seed into a delivery tube 9. Seed is fed from a hopper 17 through an adjustable opening 20. The hopper 17 and surface member 4 are oscillated transversely and the member 4 slides on rods 22. The surface member 4 may be formed by the inside of a drum on which the colectors are mounted. In a modification the collectors may be mounted on the outside of a drum or in an endless band.
