Abstract
1421847 Seed drilling machines E OYJORD 16 April 1973 18319/73 Heading AID In a seed drilling machine pocket means are disposed in the feed path between an adjustable seed feeder and a coulter to permit observation of the rate of supplying seeds. In one embodiment seeds are fed into a funnel 1 and fall through a tube 2, 3 to pockets 16 which are rotated by a vertical shaft 7; the seeds then fall through an aperture 9 in the fixed base plate 8. A soil-contacting wheel operates the shaft 7 so that the number of seeds in each pocket is an indication of how many seeds are sown per unit length travelled by the machine. In alternative embodiments pockets may be carried on an endless belt or a single pocket may be used. If a distributor is fitted, the pocket means may be introduced either before or after the distributor.
