Abstract

839,493. Texturing yarns. COURTAULDS Ltd. Aug. 29, 1958 [Aug. 30, 1957], No. 27330/57. Class 120(3) A jet, for bulking continuous filament yarn by passage thereof through a turbulent fluid zone, comprises a hollow body portion 8 having an inlet 4 for air under pressure, a yarn entry tube 1 extending into a yarn exit tube 2 to leave an annular passage 3 therebetween, and a hole 5 conncting the interior of portion 8 with the interior of tube 2. Yarn-bulking apparatus comprises means e.g. synchronized rolls, for feeding yarn to tube 1 at a controlled linear rate and for withdrawing yarn from tube 2 at a reduced linear rate, Fig. 2 (not shown).
