Abstract

1,024,671. Drying printed webs. BRISTOL FAN CO. Ltd. April 23, 1963 [May 30, 1962], No. 20818/62. Heading F4G. A nozzle for drying printed webs l comprises tubes a, b of circular cross-section arranged concentrically one within the other, the inner of which is conected to a hot air manifold (not shown) to distribute heated air under pressure through perforations g along its length against the inner side of the outer tube. From the annular space between the tubes the air discharges to the web through a line of perforations h on the opposite side of the outer tube from the portion against which the air impinges. A nozzle j may be attached to the outer tube, which nozzle has a continuous discharge slot k to direct the air against the web.
