Abstract

1,189,609. Cleaning spinning &c. machines. LUWA A.G. 31 Oct., 1968 [1 Nov., 1967], No. 51750/68. Heading D1F. [Also in Division F4] In a device for the pneumatic cleaning of fibre-carrying cylinders R on textile machines, e.g. Spinning machines, fibres and impurities freed from the cylinder R by a stripper element 25 are entrained by a induced air flow towards the oval shaped aperture 15 of a suction nozzle 12 to be evacuated through a suction pipe 20 connected to a source of negative pressure (not shown). The suction pipe 20 may carry several nozzles 12. The stripper element 25, which is pivotably attached to the nozzle 12 through pins 22, 23, comprises a plate 27 carrying lugs 28, 29. Holes 32 of greater diameter than the pins allow the element 25 to follow radial displacements of the cylinder R. The stripper 25 may, if desired, be carried by the suction pipe 20. Nozzle 12 and stripper element 25 are preferably made of plastics material.
