Abstract

1363896 Open-end spinning; cleaning machines ELITEX 1 Dec 1971 [16 Dec 1970] 55654/71 Headings DID and D1F In an open-end spinning rotor 2, Fig. 1, impurities are whirled by the end of yarn 9 formed from deposited fibre ribbon 5, are entrained by an air flow into an annular rotor chamber 13, and are passed outwards through rotor ducts 16. The dimension b, Fig. 3, of the annular passage leading to chamber 13 is preferably 1.5 times the dimension a. Separated extensions of annular rotor part 7 may bridge the annular passage to prevent fibres entering chamber 13.
