Abstract

The air jet is directed tangentially towards the carding roller from an axially extending aperture in a tube to which pressure air is supplied. Pref. the width of the aperture is variable by varying the alignment between the aperture and an axial slit in a sleeve mounted rotatably on the tube. Tearing of the web is minimised.
